I have been trying to fix this mess for the last two weeks. You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a Microsoft Agent or Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an official Microsoft global customer service number. Under that category, there should be a device labeled Network Controller.

Most of the DV series has drivers posted for Vista- which may work in Windows 7. Recent updates from Microsoft might help fix the problem. I had already looked at those locations and others on the HP website.
